The 15th International Humanitarian Law Moot

Since 2009, the Taiwan Red Cross, in collaboration with the International Committee of the Red Cross, has co-organized the International Humanitarian Law (IHL) Moot—a prestigious inter-university competition in Taiwan. This year, the 15th IHL Moot will take place from November 23rd to 24th, featuring the submission of memorials and virtual oral hearings. Registration for the event is now open.

Important Dates
(1) Registration deadline: 7th October 2024
(2) Last day to submit memorials:  31st October 2024
(3) Competition:  23rd to 24th November  2024

To register as a team member, an individual must be a registered student at a participating institution as of September 1, 2021. This includes students pursuing a first law degree, such as a Juris Doctor (JD), or any university degree below the doctoral level. Individuals are ineligible to participate if they:
  1. Hold or have held a full-time or part-time teaching position in law at any tertiary institution;
  2. Have been admitted or licensed to practice law in any jurisdiction;
  3. Have already participated twice in previous years, whether as a mooter or a researcher.
Participating students must make a declaration upon registration.
