The Executive Director of the Department of NGO International Affairs, Mr. Kang-I Chen, visited our humanitarian campus this morning. Mr. Ning-Pal Kao, the Secretary-General, and relevant executives warmly received him. Mr. Kao first guided Mr. Chen on a tour of the Humanitarian Education Center, the Water Safety Training Hall, and the Greater Taipei Disaster Preparedness Center. During the visit to the Humanitarian Education Center, Mr. Chen expressed high praise for our organization's efforts and contributions to international humanitarian work. He was particularly impressed by our establishment of the Greater Taipei Disaster Preparedness Center, extensive disaster preparedness efforts, and the construction of water safety education and training facilities to promote water safety and rescue skills.

During subsequent discussions, Mr. Chen shared Taiwan's history of demonstrating high levels of mobility and professionalism in international disaster relief efforts. The recent powerful earthquake in Hualien showcased Taiwan's robust infrastructure and resilience to the world. Additionally, the swift and efficient search and rescue efforts by Taiwan's disaster relief heroes in the aftermath of the earthquake garnered admiration and highlighted Taiwan's unwavering commitment to humanitarian work, echoing the humanitarian spirit introduced during today's visit to the Red Cross.

Secretary-General Kao expressed a warm welcome to Mr. Chen and provided an overview of our practical work in domestic and international disaster relief efforts. He also mentioned recent international assistance efforts, such as the earthquakes in Haiti and Turkey, and conflicts in Ukraine, where the Red Cross promptly delivered relief supplies to affected areas to assist disaster-stricken populations in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Given the extensive global network of the International Red Cross, our organization's international aid efforts know no bounds. In the future, we look forward to continuing our collaboration with the Department of NGO International Affairs to contribute Taiwan's efforts to international humanitarianism.
